The Springfield Rotary Club is now accepting applications for food truck vendors interested in competing in the organization’s 2015 Gourmet Food Truck Competition.
Up to 40 food truck vendors will be selected to compete in the event, to be held Aug. 15, 2015. Applications will remain open until the maximum number of trucks are selected.
Food truck vendors selected to compete will be promoted through posts, profiles and feature stories on springfieldfoodtruck.com, through event social media accounts, in local and regional publications and more. Vendors retain 100 percent of their sales at the competition, which attracted thousands of attendees and was considered a wild success in its inaugural event in 2014.
$15,000 in prizes will be awarded during the competition, including $10,000 to the grand prize winning food truck.
New this year: electricity will be provided to the food truck vendors by the Springfield Rotary Club and bulk ice will be available for food truck vendors to purchase.
Proceeds of the event support various Rotary projects including Services to People with Disabilities, Polio Plus (the worldwide eradication of Polio) and the International Project in Lesotho.
