Belly Up for Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition

As the third annual Springfield Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition draws near, anticipation for the event is running high. Brett Turner’s story, titled “Belly Up for Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition,” provided a primer on the event for readers of the Dayton Daily News and the Springfield News-Sun (one of our media sponsors).

Below is a preview of the story, click here to view it on the Dayton Daily News website and here on the Springfield News-Sun website.

“Columbus may be bigger than Springfield, but there’s one area the Capital City will have nothing on the Champion City this Saturday, Aug. 13 – food trucks.

When the third annual Springfield Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition returns to Veteran’s Park, nearly a third of the food truck competitors, including defending champion Mojo Tago, will be from the Columbus area.

Considering this is also the weekend of Columbus’ own food truck event, that says a mouthful.

One of the most anticipated new area summer events, the Food Truck Competition will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free with food and beverages for sale.

‘Who doesn’t love a variety of foods? If you look at the combination of food, the park, music, the beer garden, it’s just a fun event,’ said Eddie Bell, Rotarian and Food Truck Competition marketing committee chairman.”
